Liminal sits at the boundary between civilization and wilderness, positioned between Boulder and Denver’s urban landscape on one side and the mountains on the other. This contrast defines the space—both physically and conceptually—blurring the line between built environments and nature.

Created as a hub for experimental art, technology, music, and creative expression, Liminal is built for flexibility. Its open-layout design, built around a modular grid structure, allows installations to shift and transform the space. Projector screens can be suspended between columns, redefining the environment and creating immersive experiences. Every visit offers something different—an interplay of light, movement, and sound that reshapes the way the space is perceived.

Its most unique element is the curve, a corten steel structure that begins as flooring before bending upward into a wall and then sweeping overhead to form the ceiling. More than just an architectural element, it acts as an immersive canvas. The entire inner surface of the curve is projection-mapped, creating a seamless visual field that extends from beneath visitors’ feet to the space above and behind them. This infinity screen transforms the environment, making the curve feel both like a physical structure and a shifting portal of light and imagery.

The setting itself adds another dimension. Perched at the edge of the built world, Liminal connects the technological with the natural. The area has long been tied to speculation and curiosity, from UFO sightings to unseen energies, reinforcing its identity as a place of exploration and discovery. It is a space where digital media and the physical landscape interact—where technology doesn’t replace nature but coexists with it.
